Many of us love indie games. And quite a few of us enjoy supporting burgeoning developers that set their eyes into creating hobbies we can all enjoy. Unfortunately, there are times when you reach for the stars only to fall short. That’s exactly what happened with Roll7, the developer of Laser League. The company has recently announced that it’s discontinuing development support for the game and are handing the duties over to publisher 505 Games....

Netflix has announced it has renewed Arcane, the League of Legends anime, for a second season. The move follows the hugely successful first season, which just wrapped up this weekend. The series takes place in the world of Runeterra, before the events of LoL and features several of the game’s champions. The series mainly follows sisters Vi and Jinx and the events that eventually tear the siblings apart. It’s proven a big hit for Netflix, knocking Squid Game off the top of the most watched chart and becoming the number one TV show in 37 countries, according to IGN....

Lego The Incredibles is coming to PlayStation 4, PC, Switch, and Xbox One this summer (deep breath), Disney, Pixar, The Lego Group, TT Games, and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have announced (and relax). This probably won’t come as a surprise to anyone, considering the game has been leaked on a number of occasions this year already. Most recently, the title appeared on the packaging for a new set of Incredibles figures in the Lego Junior range....

For the Ranter that’s looking to sink his or her fangs into the newest entry in the Castlevania series can get a sample of it right now: the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow demo is officially up on the Xbox Live Marketplace. Available to PlayStation Plus subscribers since September, the demo hitting Xbox Live is nothing short of great news for longtime fans of the series. Weighing in at about 1.5 Gigabytes, the demo will give gamers an idea of what to expect from the title when it launches tomorrow....

I’m all for Metroid-likes trying something new. Too much of the time they tend to regurgitate familiar ideas. Lost Ruins appears to want to try things differently, with a stronger emphasis on survival and careful play. But there’s a problem: it’s simply too afraid to commit, which ends up making the game’s main unique feature more of a passing idea than an actual focus. The visuals are pleasing, plus I do appreciate some of what the game attempts....

After nearly six years without a new Mario Kart title, Nintendo has finally answered fans’ pleas for a new game with the release of Mario Kart Tour - a brand new entry and the first-ever mobile release for the famous karting franchise. Unfortunately, the waiting period has produced what will probably go down as the worst game in the entire Mario Kart series. From bad controls, aggravating microtransactions, and a missing multiplayer mode, Mario Kart Tour is thoroughly disappointing....

Say what you will about gacha mechanics, but it certainly inspires developers to introduce as many characters as possible to a game. Right now, Mario Kart Tour already has 40 characters for players to unlock, and there will be three more starting 10 p.m. Pacific Time, when the game’s Halloween tour ends and its Paris tour starts. A new trailer posted across social media shows off the new characters, which include a chef Shy Guy, a pit crew version of Toad, and a new Peach outfit that fits the setting....

Remedy Entertainment has announced it’s partnering with Rockstar to remake classic noir action shooters Max Payne 1 & 2. As per a press release, both the original Max Payne and its sequel Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne will get the remake treatment. Remedy will remake both games using its Northlight engine, the same engine seen in Control. Both games will be released as a single package on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC....

Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced the full lineup of free PlayStation Plus games for May 2018. Leading the charge is Quantic Dream’s supernatural thriller Beyond: Two Souls, which arrived on PlayStation 3 in 2013 and later strapped its glad rags on for a current-generation makeover back in 2016. Also hitting up PS Plus on May 1 is Rayman Legends, damn fine platformer that is well worth checking out if you’re all burnt out on the likes of Crash Bandicoot N....

Although the Secret Invasion Disney+ series is in a state of limbo right now with no set debut date, that’s not stopping MCU fans from speculating about who might appear in the first Phase 5 TV show. Despite there being a handful of Shield members to choose from that could back up Nick Fury, one character, in particular, seems to have a bit of momentum in the online community. She hasn’t been seen in any MCU content since the Agents of Shield TV series, but it seems like fans are clamoring for the return of Chloe Bennet as Quake/Daisy Johnson....

It’s kind of incredible the course the Mega Man franchise has taken since its inception in 1987. Although the first game didn’t sell particularly well, critical reception and great word of mouth gave the game a second life post-release. It didn’t take long for Capcom to greenlight a sequel, and it took even less time for Mega Man 2 to cement itself as one of the most successful– and important– video games of all time....

I was excited early on for Metro Exodus. The initial trailers for the game showed off some of the snowy, Russian environments. Today third-party developers released several add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator and revealed another. Milviz finally released its Cessna 310 R, which is now available on the developer’s own store for $39.99. It’s worth mentioning that the developer announced that the aircraft will absolutely be released on Xbox down the line, but that requires Microsoft to fix the handling of WASM gauges on the platform, which has not been done yet. Milviz has no visibility on when that will happen....

Third-party developers provided updates about their existing and upcoming add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator. We start with PMDG, which teased the first previews of their upcoming Boeing 777 “Soon™”. You can take that “TM” as you wish. On the other hand, the developer has mentioned its plan for updating the popular Boeing 737-700 that was released last week. The aircraft should get the first update late this week with mostly small items, with bigger ones coming in subsequent updates....
